Esprit showcases its Autumn/holiday 2008-2009 collection

21st November, 2008

Esprit, the leading international lifestyle brand showcased its autumn/holiday 2008-2009 collection to the champagne set of Chennai at No. 8, Buva House, Khader Nivas Khan Road, Nungambakam, Chennai, followed by a party at Dublin, ITC Park Sheraton.

The uniqueness of the show was the use of the store façade as a backdrop, probably the first in apparel history! The show spelt magic right from the façade of the store, to the models like Nina Manuel, Pia Trivedi, Candice Pinto, Shayan Munshi and Acquin Paes amongst others, showcasing the Esprit collection, Esprit casual & EDC, the youth range of Esprit.

Commenting on the occasion, Ms. Manjula Tiwari, COO, Esprit, said: "Chennai has given us a very warm welcome and we hope to keep up to their expectations by bringing the best in style and fashion to Chennai."

"The opening of this beautiful and unusual store is a great milestone for Esprit in India and we hope to heighten the shopping experience. The 6000 + sq. ft. store has been built retaining the charm and essence of the mansion, resulting in a beautifully crafted Esprit Heritage Store." Housed in this beautiful structure is Esprit's latest Autumn/holiday 2008-2009 collection for men, women and children.

The Autumn/holiday 2008-2009 collection accentuates a sporty statement through colours like natural tones, yellow, green and pink amongst others. The collection is high on creativity and innovative in design with a focus on quality. It caters to the smart and chic urban with a distinct taste for silhouettes that are strong individualistic statement pieces. The trademarks of the collection are the strong elements of surface detailing and ornamentation with an emphasis on comfort and wearability.

Twilight tones and precious jewel colours characterise the look in a diversity of materials: tweeds, cotton, soft silk, felted fabrics, wool, nylon and satin. Knitted pullovers, cardigans, long-sleeve polo shirts make a bold statement with elegant dark denim styles. The design is slim: longer hems, the waist emphasised, wider cut Marlene Dietrich styles and flared pants in structured cotton fabrics and minimalist patterns emphasise the silhouette.

Globally, Esprit works on a 12-season concept with every store launching a fresh look and style to its existing variety every month. The brand offers a plethora of choice with the availability of The Casual World - for daily wear, The Collection World - formal/official and evening wear, The EDC World - for the youth, The Kids World for 2-11 years and The Accessory World - bags, belts, socks, scarves, ties, etc.
